My first foray into something better than a disposable e-cig happened while visiting my folks in Miami, where I saw a brick & mortar shop called Vapor Shark. Bought myself the small starter kit which included a VS1 battery, a GLASS 2.5ml pyrex BDC clearomizer, two 1.8ohm atomizer heads, nice drip tip, USB pass-through cable, case, and my choice of a 30ml bottle of Vapor Shark e-liquid. All for around $70. Although I am grateful to Vapor Shark for introducing me to advanced vaping, I now know that they simply rebrand standard equipment. The VS-1 battery is a standard 3.7v 900mah eGo with pass-through. The case is a standard eGo case with Vapor Shark logo, and the GLASS is a Kanger Protank 3. The e-juice I picked, Mountain Dude, was just ok (will be reviewed later). I could have bought the individual parts at a much better price.
The GLASS clearomizer itself works nicely. The bottom dual coiled atomizer creates nice flavor and vapor production from the various juices I’ve tried in it (currently vaping Indigo’s Five Bucks in it). The pyrex tank just feels better than the standard plastic, although I’m not sure it really makes any difference flavor wise as some suggest. My only con is that there is little room to fill the tank without getting juice in the center post. This might be true of the Protank too, I’ve not yet used one.
As I’ve said, I’m indebted to Vapor Shark for teaching me how crummy disposable e-cigs are. And if you’re new to vaping, have no one to show you the way, then having a real store to visit, with an incredibly helpful staff, is simply invaluable.GLASS by Vapor Shark,
